孤独一代︱Lonely Generation

自1979年中国出台计划生育政策后,出生在独生子女家庭的后代们就被称为“小皇帝”。 作为“被宠坏了的一代”,他们分享不了手足之情的快乐,也体会不到同胞争宠的郁闷。 他们大多数成长在城市里,比贫困地区的孩子生活优越,但他们并没有那么快乐,更要承受应试教育的压力和家长们望子成龙的期待。他们被捧在手心,却注定只能孤独成长。
这组专题完成后不久,2015年10月29日,中国共产党第十八届中央委员会第五次全体会议提出,“全面实施一对夫妇可生育两个孩子政策”。2015年12月21日,十二届全国人大常委会第十八次会议初次审议了《人口与计划生育法修正案(草案)》,自2016年1月1日起施行。这意味着,中国的独生子女政策正式宣告终结,强制避孕节育也将成为历史。(摄于2010年至2015年)

They were known as China’s “little emperors” – the offspring of one-child families born after the country’s draconian family planning policy was introduced in 1979. They became the “spoilt generation” of teenagers who didn’t experience the joys and heartache of sibling rivalry or share. Most of them grew up in the city, but they are not so happy. They withstand the pressure of exam-oriented education and parents’ hopeful expectations. They are growing up with loneliness.
On October 29, 2015, the change in the existing law to a two-child policy citing a statement from the Communist Party of China. The new policy allowing Chinese couples to have two children was proposed in order to help address the aging issue in China. The new law was passed in the session of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee after two months, which governs country’s laws, effective from January 1, 2016. (2010-2015)
